Q: What are you looking for in titles that come through the marketplace?
A: You know how they always say “never judge a book by its cover”? Well, the opposite is true with DropCap Marketplace. I can’t help it—I’m always looking for titles with covers that I know will make people stop and take notice!
After that, it’s all about sales. One of the best ways for us to convince our overseas buyers that a book will be successful in their market is to prove that it has already achieved domestic success.
A Royal Shade of Blue, by Aven Ellis, is a USA Today bestseller which was scouted through DropCap Marketplace and is now represented by our agenting team at DropCap.
Q: What are you doing to promote the titles in DropCap Marketplace?
A: Marketing books that are part of our platform happens three distinct ways:
Organic and paid advertising across social media platforms, run by our digital marketing team
Email marketing, which has always been one of DropCap’s best ways to connect rights buyers with the titles they are looking for
